As many of you know, I usually don't post Christian sites here too often because rarely does one come along that teaches the pure truth of God's word... I believe this to be one of the better ones I have seen.

Nathan Leal, (pronounced Lee-al), is the owner of the site and the Minister/Teacher. After listening to about 8 or 9 of his audios, I found him to be just like us, a simple man, a watcher foremost with a very kind and gentle spirit. There is a fire inside him as well and he brings to light the truth in scripture as I have only heard it from very few teachers.

My mother was a teenager when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.

She endured watching young men she had grown up with and went to school with, march off to war, some never to return.

She worked filling in their jobs while they fought bravely against Axis Power militaries hell bent on destroying freedom.

She scrimped and saved and helped bring forth every manner of item needed for the war effort.

We didn't have much money, but we were contented and happy."

People whistled and sang. There was still The United States of America, our country, which had been blessed by God, a 'shining city on a hill' that beckoned to the masses of people worldwide, yearning to live freely and worship freely. A land molded by the very hands of God, teeming with every plant, animal and fish to sustain us. The lowest valley's, the highest mountains, the deepest forest's and the widest plains, which we had fought for, our freedom, our Republic. But where is it now?

This writing is not an original idea. I got it from a writer, Nicholas Pringle, in England who wrote a similar story about his grandmother and their "Greatest Generation". I felt one should be also done from this side of the pond because both countries fought together as allies and endured losses on both sides. Say what you will, but without each other, I doubt we could have won by ourselves. I had a wealth of people here to talk to close by as this is a retirement town so I talked to about 75 people over the course of two years, mostly in groups. I had done this for a different reason but found it would work with this as well. Mr Pringle is turning this into a book. I will not as this was his idea originally and I want no profit, just an opportunity to tell Americans about those that died to give them what they have so they could throw it away.

I too, end my conversation with each person by asking, "Are you happy with how your country has turned out? What do you think your fallen comrades would have made of life in 21st century America?" I got the exact same response Nicholas did. Most said they would be spinning in their graves.

There were those that said they still believed America to be the greatest country in the world, but the overall tone is one of disgust. Most veterans could not believe that America would support a man running for president who would not place his hand over his heart for the national anthem, nor say the pledge.

"I am no longer proud of America", said one vet from the pacific theater. "I fought the Japanese in the Philipines until I lost both my legs for this?"
Another soldier remembered swimming through his fellow comrades blood at Normandy, "Many of my friends died that day so we could set free millions of europeans from the hands of a Nazi dictator named Hitler, and now we have President Upstart running around the world apologizing for everything we did. Makes me want to puke and wonder why I even joined the army".

But the truth that emerges from those people of the war generation is one of utter contempt for this current administration and his 'thugs'.

REPUBLIC OR DEMOCRACY?

The Idea of "Left Wing" = Liberal and "Right Wing" = Conservative is a illogical and false concept and creates confusion. One must view it as the way goverments are set up. The Far left, (at it's highest point), is total goverment, complete control of life and society, in every aspect. This is true in an Ogilarchy or a Monarchy. This would include Communism, Socialism, Naziism, Facism, Princes, Potentates, Dictators, Kings. --- The opposite end would be the Far Right, (it's lowest point), where there is NO government at all. That is called Anarchy. In the very center you would find government in it's proper position of a "very limited" role of protecting the people's rights and nothing further. Dead center is where you would find a "Republic", a little to the left of that, a "Democracy".

A Democracy is rule by the people. Whatever the populace can be convinced that they need, and a majority votes in favor of that, is what happens. This sounds good until one large group decides they want everything one way. If this group is 51%, there will always be 49% that oppose the idea. What if that large group were vegatarians and they voted to outlaw the consumption of meat? Don't laugh, there are many laws like this being enacted in our "Republic" right now. It doesn't matter what the law is, if it was voted in by the majority, you're in a democracy. Our country was created as a Republic but slowly, very slowly, leaders are convincing people a Democracy is better and they begin the slow pull further and further left until many of the rights we enjoy today are going or gone. This process began before the ink was dry on the Constitution.

A Republic is rule by law, a Supreme law, and that is what our Constitution is. Ammendments have been added whenever the need arose, but these were few and far between and put there when it served ALL of the people, and not just favor one group in particular. Those laws still stand today, however, there are those who have convinced the lesser educated that the laws are archaic and need to be throw out and rewritten. They WANT a Democracy! Well then, I have a challenge for you. Name one democracy that has lasted more than 200 years. The more educated among us will never take this challenge, they can't, they know they can't because there isn't one, all of them are dead and gone, or they had anarchy for a while and then chose another form of government.

There is ultimately one form of government not mentioned here because it is always the one that mankinds turns to last. I don't even think that we can call it a government although it's central figure stands above all leaders that has ever lead and is perfect in all it's judgements and pronouncements. It is always fair and just and provides it's people a form of freedom no other government in the history of mankind has ever given. It is the one most often rejected in favor of less qualified and more corrupt forms of governing. So if it is that good, why does mankind reject it in most cases? Because it requires the greatest sacrifice... Obedience to YHVH has always been contrary to mankind's sinful nature... and yet, it is what he needs the most.

A vehicle at 15 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 800 gallons a
year of gasoline.
A vehicle at 25 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 480 gallons a
year.
So, the average clunker transaction will reduce US gasoline
consumption by 320 gallons per year.

So, we all contributed to spending $3 billion to save $350 million.
How good a deal was that?
