I can't sleep & I have heard the Lord speaking to me about the Great & Terrible Famine coming to the US. He spoke to me very clearly about how devastating it will be for those who have not tried to take care of putting up food & seed for themselves & their families.
As I was listening to Him 'in the quiet', He told me how this would be compared in the spiritual by the Great & Terrible Famine coming to the people of His own household spiritually. Even as people begin to starve in the natural when they have no food to eat, they will do almost anything to feed themselves.
There is a time coming when people will become ravenous for the Word of God spoken in Truth but many will be unable to find it because they have not kept their lamps filled - rather, they are counting upon others to 'share' theirs with them. The Lord is setting apart His remnant Bride & He will hide her from those who have professed to belong to Him but have not truly ever known Him at all. It will be apparent to everyone, most especially to them.
Repentance is a gift & if it is not given to someone by the Lord, they will perish both in the natural & the spiritual & the pretense of the social groups that called themselves His Church & are not will be exposed ruthlessly by the lack of His Holy Spirit & His presence. The true remnant of the Lord will begin to be drawn together in the most unlikely of places & will recognize each other immediately & experience joy & precious fellowship that will see them through until the next time they meet. "A good tree cannot produce bad fruit" & vice versa.
The Lord is already separating the wheat from the chaff & we were clearly told not to try to do this for Him because we might damage the wheat. There are so many servants of the Lord God who have left the established church & it will become the new norm for remnant believers to meet together in small groups, in private places, where they will encourage each other in the things of the Lord Jesus & pray earnestly for one another, even as in the days of the great dispersion in Jerusalem, when being a believer & true disciple of Christ in Israel could mean one's life.
They will be turned in by "professing Christians" believing they are doing the Lord a great service. Many will be martyred but the Lord will be with them & like the first martyr, Stephen, they will STAND, having done all to stand,.....& they will ask the Father to forgive them even as he did & will go home in wondrous glory while the whole world watches & does nothing, even though there will be many saved from this group who are being convicted by the Lord Jesus Christ who turn & repent. They will be found by the remnant - taken in & mentored by the seasoned, mature saints who are wise in the wisdom of the Father.
The time of miracles that Jesus spoke of will come - His servants will do mighty exploits in His Name & authority. Raising the dead will become commonplace as medicines will be available only to the ruling elite of the world. Jesus will be glorified in His remnant though she will not be that many when all has played out before His Second Coming. The two witnesses will remain hidden until the Lord calls them forth to do their work publically, although word of their comings & goings will be known for a season only amongst the people of the remnant.
Meanwhile, the world as we've known it will continue on the course we're on now & for the most part, people will adapt at having much less food, water, & goods of every kind. When the multitudes of disasters continue without respite, people will take sides, some will think they are safe with the government, others will rise up against them. Some will prevail, many more will be killed as in the former Soviet Union. The lies of the government or *those in power* will lie about where these people are - almost every adult without skills, killed. The children will be used mercilessly as slaves & workers by those who wield a little power. Many of these children will become Spirit Filled believers & will find ways to escape. The hidden remnant will find them & take them in as family.
It will become like the Holocaust, only multiplied beyond anything we could have imagined, especially as TRUE believers. It will become very much like that old movie with Charlton Heston that you have mentioned before, "Soylent Green". People who survive the great wrath of the Lord during the times we are entering will be eating "people"& will not know it. When they find out, many will not care. It will be every man for themselves so that they may live. Compassion will not live in the hearts of most. The remnant will be working all the while - doing the work of the Kingdom, in the midst of the wars, plagues, natural & manmade disasters. God will be with His people regardless of any circumstances.
We MUST continue to place our complete trust in Him or our own hearts will fail us as His remnant. We MUST be ready from this moment in time to run with the horses. Time has run out. It ran out quite a while ago. We MUST be disciplined to pray in whatever circumstance we find ourselves, so that we may extend the love of Jesus Christ to the ones to whom the Lord leads us. Lord,..help us - "Your strength is made perfect in our weakness."
