4.1 earthquake and aftershocks hit Inland Empire and eastern Los Angeles www.myvalleynews.com/story/45466/RIVERSIDE - An earthquake rattled the Inland Empire and eastern Los Angeles County today, and automated seismographs said the magnitude 4.1 shaker had an epicenter three miles south of Redlands. The USGS seismograph network said the first shock hit at 1:39 p.m., and was followed by two aftershocks: magnitude 1.5 at 1:43, and magnitude 1.4 at 1:47. The biggest quake was felt as a quick jolt, followed by small back-and-forth motion, at the CNS bureau in Riverside. USGS data showed that the quake was likely felt as weak shaking as far west as Chino and Pomona, and south to Temecula. At least six small aftershocks have rattled the Redlands area, with the largest being magnitude 2.5 temblors at 1:54 and 2:09 p.m. The 4.1 main shock hit at 1:39 p.m. No damage has been reported.
