Nuku'alofa, Tonga (AHN) - A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck off Tonga Saturday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). There were no immediate reports of injury and damage and a tsunami alert was not issued.
The epicenter of the quake was 60 miles south-southeast of the Tongan capital of Nuku'alofa and 6.2 miles deep. The quake struck at 3:34 p.m. local time.
