The epicenter was 285 kilometers (180 miles) southeast of Ternate, on Indonesia's Moluccas island group, and 2,415 kilometers (1,500 miles) east of Jakarta, the nation's capital, at a depth of 52.4 kilometers (32.6 miles). No tsunami warning was issued. Originally reported as a 6.4 quake by the USGS, there were no reports yet of damage or injuries. The quake struck just hours after a 5.9 moderate tremor struck the country's Palau region on Saturday morning. The 5.9-magnitude earthquake was centered about 361 kilometers (224 miles) north-northwest of Manokwari, a city in the Pacific nation's West Papua province, according to the US Geological Survey.
