law.rightpundits.com/?p=1354The USGS said a magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck Guatemala today, March 20,2010. The temblor hit about 60 miles from the country’s border with Mexico. There are no reports of damage or injuries at this time. Guatemala Earthquake: 5.3 Magnitude Quake Strikes Guatemala The 5.3 earthquake was centered approximately 53 miles N-NE of Huehuetenango, Guatemala, and had a depth of 51 miles. The are is lightly populated. This quake follows an earlier one today, a 5.6 earthquake that struck Guantanamo, Cuba. Does this outbreak of earthquakes concern you? Is it ‘mother nature’, or something more? How do people in quake prone areas deal with the ever present threat of the ‘big one’? I am truly curious. I have been through many hurricanes and a tornado or 3, yet the thought of the ground moving beneath me is terrifying! Are all of these smaller quakes precursors to the ‘big ones’ we often hear are coming? I’m very grateful for the lack of damage and injuries but will update with any new reports.
