Christmas is coming, and many of YHVH’s (the LORD’s) people are concerned about what they should do with this man-made holiday.
Through repentance we begin to turn from our ways to those of our heavenly Fathers. As we do this we slowly become holy as He is holy, and begin to demonstrate the difference between being part of the world and becoming the set-apart people of YHVH.
When those whom we are closest to begin to see change in our heart and thoughts demonstrated by changes also in our actions there is a collision between the ever-changing doctrines and traditions of men (which we have known all our lives) and the keeping of the Creator’s timeless ways.
Yeshua (Jesus), quoting the word of YHVH given to Micah says:
Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three. Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.” (Luk 12:51-53)
We must be willing to stand up for our Father’s ways alone or we will never be part of His family. Yeshua said that those who do the will of his Father were his brothers and sisters and mothers. If we wish to have peace in this world we will be destroyed in the end. But the man that wishes to serve only YHVH and leave the ways of the world, the man that will lay down his will (his life) and incline his ways to those of his heavenly Fathers, will live.
“But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live. Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says YHVH GOD, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live? (Eze 18:21-23)
The world will always love its own; and hate those who oppose its ways.
Yeshua said, “If the world hates you, you know that it hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. (Joh 15:18-19)
I believe, if we really love someone we will live in such a way that they can see YHVH’s light shining through us. This decision will bring a sword and will often divide the family, but could this division be part of YHVH’s chastening of those He loves?
You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so YHVH your God chastens you. “Therefore you shall keep the commandments of YHVH your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him. (Deu 8:5-6)
“Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty. (Job 5:17)
I speak to you as a man that knows this chastening. I lost my family, my wife, my sons, my daughter and all my friends, just before Christmas 2005. I would never have left my family but as Yeshua says ‘the world will hate you.” YHVH arranged the affairs of my life so that there was no choice; I had to follow His ways and I could no longer follow my own. Yet because of that most horrific event, my life and the lives of thousands of others will never be the same.
I give all the glory to Him and believe that one day my wayward family will return to Him, and to me. Noah’s wife, Noah’s son’s and their wives were all saved from the destruction that fell on the earth because “Noah walked with God.”
But Noah found grace in the eyes of YHVH. This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God. (Gen 6:8-9)
Can we do any less?
