GODS GARDEN
l had the blessed experience of planting a garden last spring. The only place I had near water was thick with blackberries. Whoa ! Do you know how hard it is to completely get them out ? Really rough ! I had to dig, a shovel at a time and get out EVERY root. Miss just one, and you garden will suffer throughout the growing season !
Many times I had to go back and re-dig in certain areas, but, finally, I was able to get ALL the roots and shoots.
Then, I had to fertilize the ground, picking just the right amount of fertilizer and minerals and lime, to be sure the plants would have a good start, and nutrition's to carry them awhile.
I had to choose the seed well, because some needed more sunlight than others, some more water.
So, after all these things I planted seed. I checked it daily, with great anticipation, to see if any seeds had spring up. When I saw the small little plants beginning to sprout, man what a blessing ! I sure enough had to pay particular care and attention to them then. They were tender plants, vulnerable to insects and diseases, and had to have just the right amount of water. Also, I saw that it took some seeds longer to sprout than others. Many, I had given up on, and was about to re-plant, but, just a little longer, and there they were ! Patience is an essential ingredient in gardening!
Daily, I would visit the tender young plants, pulling weeds , coming from old seeds latent in the soil, or dropped by birds, or blown in from the wind. Watching them grow was amazing, each plant having their own characteristics. When insects or disease would try to destroy or hinder their growth, I would read up on what to do about them, and deal with the problems.
All the constant attention paid off, as I watched the plants grow into strong, vibrant plants that began giving up first signs of fruit. FRUIT ! Such an exciting period, watching each plants fruit grow. Oh, I still had to water, weed, fertilize, all just right amount.
Then, the day of harvest came. Praise God ! The plants gave off beautiful, tasty fruit, some more than others.
It took a LOT of work to have that garden !!! But the pay-off was tremendous ! Many around me got blessed, eating of the fruit......
Ya know, that garden taught me a lot about saving souls. All the preparation time involved, and constant management. The Word declares we must be " first partakers of fruit " ( II Timothy 2:6 ). We must dig out all the weeds in OUR life. Some is harder to deal with than others. We must condition the soil with fastings and prayers, standing in the gap at times. Then we must deliver the "seed of the Word" in proportion, choosing the right places to sow. Then when there are signs of growth, be vigilant in protecting them from bad seeds strewn by the birds of the air (devils), and the latent seeds in the soil ( false doctrines ). This is constant, throughout the whole process. We must constantly water and feed the new converts with just the right amount, and watch as God gives increase. Oh but when harvest time comes,,GLORY !!! What a blessing !!! And you know what, all that fruit has its seed inside itself. Healthy seed, fit to be re-planted.....
Let's grow a garden this year saints...
