The quake was recorded at 11.20 am (0320 GMT), and the epicentre was 55 km southeast of General Santos city, or 1,095 km south-southeast of Manila at a depth of 207.5 km, the USGS said in a report on www.usgs.gov, its website. No casualties or damage has been reported so far. Renato Solidum, Director of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, said that he was not expecting significant damage although there could be possible aftershocks.
