No tsunami warning has been issued. The quake struck 464 kilometers northwest of the country's second city Luganville on the island of Espiritu Santo at 4:26 p.m. (0526 GMT) on Tuesday, according to the US Geological Survey, at a depth of 92 kilometers. The USGS says its report of the 6.2 tremblor "supersedes" an initial report that put the earthquake's strength at magnitude 5.9.
