Several weeks ago you were the featured guest on MERF
.
I am a frequent listener of the show and am friendly with Dr. Steve Carol - Professor of History, Author and Co-Producer of the show. I enjoyed your presentation and actually called in to the show. In addition, I subscribe to Israpundit and sincerely appreciate the terrific work that you do.
This past week (4/19/09) Dr. Steve Carol was the featured guest. The question he addressed in great detail was: “What Does Israel Do For The United States?”
I suggested to Steve that he present and address this issue as I believe it is of the utmost importance to educate the populace regarding the true nature of the relationship between Israel and the U.S. The common perception among many, if not most Americans who support Israel (American Jews included), is that Israel would cease to exist without U.S. support and that Israel is dependent upon the U.S. for its survival. In my opinion this is not true. Moreover, the U.S. benefits enormously from what Israel has and continues to provide the U.S.
Dr. Carol did a superb job documenting in great detail much of what Israel has done and continues to do for the U.S. in concise and succinct terms. Simply put, the U.S. may be more dependent and reliant upon Israel than vice-versa.
Unfortunately, since 9/93 and the inception of the Oslo era, Israeli leaders and politicians have been reluctant to emphasize the reciprocal nature of the relationship that exists between Israel and the U.S.
Given the Obama administration’s obsession with creating yet another Palestinian entity in Judea/Samaria/East Jerusalem, coupled with the administrations ‘outreach’ to the larger Muslim/Islamic world , it is imperative that the truth about this crucial relationship be made known.
If and when you have the time, please listen to this show (aired 4/19/09 which will be archived by midweek) and consider producing a transcript of Dr. Carol’s comments. The list of facts that Dr. Carol discusses provides an invaluable resource. I intend to write to conservative radio talk-show hosts - who support Israel - and ask them to listen to the show and then consider inviting Dr. Carol on their shows as a guest.
