To Honor Jesus Christ, Glorify God, Encourage Believers, & Warn All
This information is offered with the hope that YOU can come to KNOW the Lord personally.
Philippians 2:5-11 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Commentary: Every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. Some voluntarily, others not.
Colossians 2:9-10 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Commentary: He is the “Godhead” (trinity) in the flesh.
John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Commentary: The Word was WITH God and WAS God “in the beginning.” The Word made “all things.” These things were SPOKEN into existence. {Example: Gen 1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. In this verse, God literally spoken all flying animals into existence that never existed before. Now observe the magician as he makes a dove appear from thin air by saying "hocus pocus" or some other meaningless magical word. Did he create the dove? No, by trickery he produced by slight of hand that which God created. It did not exist before God "SPOKE" it into existence during creation.
John 1:10-14 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Commentary: The Word left heaven and became a man among us. Who, then, is Christ, but the Word Incarnate and the Creator of all things? The Son of the Highest was here in this lower world; that light in this dark world; that holy thing in this sinful polluted world. He left a world of bliss and glory, and was here in this melancholy miserable world. The greatest honor that ever was put upon this world, which is such a mean and inhospitable a part of the universe, was that the Son of God was once in the world Now observe this, (1.) What reason did Christ expect the most affectionate and respectful welcome possible in this world; (because the world was made by him). Therefore he came to save a lost world because it was a world of his own making. Why should he not concern himself to revive the light that was of his own kindling, to restore a life of his own infusing, and to renew the image that was originally of his own creation? The world was made by him, and therefore ought to pay him homage. But man's own self-importance and pride would not allow that. They saw Him only as a man. I pray none of you have ever experienced the pain of having your own child turn against you as a parent and revile you, and say all manner of vile things to you. Can you imagine having this hapen over and over again from billions of your children? Your heart would burst. There would be nothing you could do about it either, except to let them destroy themselves in so many ways. Big difference is that God CAN do something about it...
Revelation 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Commentary: The Word of God is his name.
John 10:30 I and my Father are one.
Commentary: Jesus is God.
John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
Commentary: Christ preexisted Abraham; He was the I AM who spoke to Moses. Yet, He was the son of David.
John 8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
Commentary: Abraham rejoiced at Christ’s day BEFORE Christ was born in Bethlehem.
1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
Commentary: There is only one God and one mediator between God and men, Jesus Christ the Nazerene. Therefore, Mary can not be a mediator. Furthermore, Jesus Christ saith unto her [Mary] Woman, what have I to do with thee? Mine hour is not yet come. [John 2:4] (This is a great verse to use when talking with Catholic's and the reverence of Mary). Thus, Jesus Christ did not even refer to her as "Mother", but woman, in this situation . His "hour", of course, refers to His crucifixion. Jesus could have said, "I will change the water into wine in a minute, Mama." But, He chose to show us [and her] something. Since Jesus, who never sinned and always obeyed authority, would have always rendered proper respect to His Mother, His message in John 2:4 is clear. Jesus is showing us that Mary can only come to Him in the same manner as the rest of us sinners. The implication that Mary is only another woman with no access to Him (apart from the cross) is made clear.
Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Commentary: The “child” is also “the everlasting Father” and “the mighty God.” He will rule the earth because the “government will be upon his shoulder.”
Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Commentary: There is nothing which was not created BY Him and FOR Him.
Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Commentary: There were persons present at the creation. They agreed and created all things. The triune God, in the Hebrew Elohim, is described by a uni-plural noun. Here we see Christ present.
1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Commentary: God was seen in the flesh (Jesus), preached unto the Gentiles (Jesus), received up into glory (Jesus).
Ephesians 2:15-16 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
Commentary: Christ abolished the law, and reconciled God and man on the cross, thus, destroying the division between God and man. Paul here shows that those who were in a state of enmity, (hatred), are reconciled. Between the Jews and the Gentiles there had been a great enmity; as there is between God and every unregenerate man. Now Jesus Christ is our peace, Eph_2:14. The enmity is gone to those God regenerates, calls, sanctifies, and saves, (yes I know it's not in the right order, I'll get to the "Ordo Salutis" later, don't beat me). The "law that was abolished was the ceremonial, (Mosaic) law, which no Jew or Gentile could live by anyway.
To anyone who says that Jesus is just a prophet-
This is an IMPOSSIBILITY! Since JESUS SAID HE was GOD, then HE IS GOD!
If HE is not God, then, He is a crazy man. These TWO options make it imposssible for Jesus to be just a prophet.
