I am not going to get into the Politics of what is going on in the Ukraine - that is a totally different subject - but this article - has information, which I posted about around the 7th of November.
The Ukraine President has had on his desk for almost a Week now - a Bill that authorizes 125 million in aid to help with the Epidemic. He STILL HAS NOT SIGNED IT!

KIEV, November 11 (Itar-Tass) -- Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko has accused President Yushchenko of failing to take the necessary measures to fight the flu epidemic, hoping it would serve as an excuse for disruption of the presidential election due on January 17, 2010.
Timoshenko was speaking at a Cabinet meeting after the president delayed the signing of a law to disburse 125 million dollars for anti-epidemic measures.
“I demand that the president should sign this law today and enable the government to purchase everything necessary, including the vaccine,” Timoshenko said. She claimed that “the president’s eight-day-long deliberate reluctance to sign the law to disburse money for anti-epidemic measures was an act running counter to the interests of Ukraine.”
“The president is responsible personally for each single person who is sick or dying today,” Timoshenko said.

More than 200 indigenous people who refused to vacate their land in eastern Paraguay were sprayed late last week with what some believe was pesticide, sending seven to the hospital, a government cabinet member said this week.
The 217 members of the Ava Guarani community in the Itakyry district suffered vomiting, diarrhea, headaches and nausea, said Esperanza Martinez, Paraguay's minister of health. Although one person was in serious condition, she said Monday, the rest are improving.
"For us, it's very clear that this is an acute community-wide intoxication caused in a premeditated manner by an unknown substance," Martinez said on her ministry's Web site. "But it is very clear because all of the similar symptoms occurred after this incident."

This, does not have anything to do with the Ukraine directly, but it is one of those articles and news information - where you have to ask "Why"? Why are they creating an Antidote to Ricin? What kind of information do they know - we do not? Also Why, are they releasing this information?

An anti-toxin that protects against ricin poisoning is to move into production for the first time.
It is the result of eight years of work by researchers at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory based at Porton Down in Wiltshire.
Security experts say ricin - roughly 1,000 times more toxic than cyanide - could be used in a bio-terror attack.
Dr Holley told BBC News: "In the past there has been lots of research carried out using different methods. But this is the first [anti-toxin] that has been moved into production.
The principal scientist in biomedical sciences at DSTL added: "It is anticipated that a product will be available for use in the next couple of years."
Ricin is extracted from castor beans, which are processed throughout the world to make castor oil. The toxin is part of the waste "mash" produced when castor oil is made.
It can cause harm if injected, swallowed or inhaled. But the amount needed to kill depends on the route of administration.
A combination of pulmonary, liver, renal and immunological failure can lead to death, though people can recover from exposure.
In recent years, the perceived threat of bioterrorism has increased.
Although the anti-toxin developed at Porton Down was initially intended for use by the military, DSTL scientists are investigating its potential use in a civilian environment.
Production of the anti-toxin involves immunising sheep with an inactive form of ricin, which results in the production of antibodies. These are proteins used by the immune system to neutralise harmful substances.
The antibodies are then harvested from the sheep to produce a freeze-dried product. This is reconstituted with water for injection into the body.

I am not going to get into the Politics of what is going on in the Ukraine - that is a totally different subject - but this article - has information, which I posted about around the 7th of November.
The Ukraine President has had on his desk for almost a Week now - a Bill that authorizes 125 million in aid to help with the Epidemic. He STILL HAS NOT SIGNED IT!

KIEV, November 11 (Itar-Tass) -- Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko has accused President Yushchenko of failing to take the necessary measures to fight the flu epidemic, hoping it would serve as an excuse for disruption of the presidential election due on January 17, 2010.
Timoshenko was speaking at a Cabinet meeting after the president delayed the signing of a law to disburse 125 million dollars for anti-epidemic measures.
“I demand that the president should sign this law today and enable the government to purchase everything necessary, including the vaccine,” Timoshenko said. She claimed that “the president’s eight-day-long deliberate reluctance to sign the law to disburse money for anti-epidemic measures was an act running counter to the interests of Ukraine.”
“The president is responsible personally for each single person who is sick or dying today,” Timoshenko said.
The first deputy chief of the presidential secretariat, Alexander Shlapak, earlier advised the head of state to decline the law on financing the struggle against the epidemic, because the document contained many flaws.

Low Level Planes Sprayed a Tribe with something - they think a Pesticide - People were immediately sick afterwards. Others have been trying to force them off their land.
This is very disturbing - spraying of people with chemicals is happening around the world!

More than 200 indigenous people who refused to vacate their land in eastern Paraguay were sprayed late last week with what some believe was pesticide, sending seven to the hospital, a government cabinet member said this week.
The 217 members of the Ava Guarani community in the Itakyry district suffered vomiting, diarrhea, headaches and nausea, said Esperanza Martinez, Paraguay's minister of health. Although one person was in serious condition, she said Monday, the rest are improving.
"For us, it's very clear that this is an acute community-wide intoxication caused in a premeditated manner by an unknown substance," Martinez said on her ministry's Web site. "But it is very clear because all of the similar symptoms occurred after this incident."
An eviction order against the indigenous people was supposed to be carried out Friday, but a district prosecutor canceled the mandate right before it was to be executed.
"And, according to what the indigenous said, that apparently angered the soy growers, who went there to try to remove them," Paraguayan Health Minister Martinez said. "They went in trucks to try to forcefully remove them."
Amnesty International said the Ava Guarani fought back against the 50 men who tried to evict them.
"The indigenous peoples resisted using bows and arrows," the rights group said in a release Tuesday.
Police were present, which limited the fight, Martinez said.
"Afterward," she said, "came a low-level flight by airplanes where the people were working in their fields, in their community orchards, with the spraying of a liquid over the people who were there, who later presented with massive symptoms."

This, does not have anything to do with the Ukraine directly, but it is one of those articles and news information - where you have to ask "Why"? Why are they creating an Antidote to Ricin? What kind of information do they know - we do not? Also Why, are they releasing this information?

An anti-toxin that protects against ricin poisoning is to move into production for the first time.
It is the result of eight years of work by researchers at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory based at Porton Down in Wiltshire.
Security experts say ricin - roughly 1,000 times more toxic than cyanide - could be used in a bio-terror attack.
Dr Holley told BBC News: "In the past there has been lots of research carried out using different methods. But this is the first [anti-toxin] that has been moved into production.
The principal scientist in biomedical sciences at DSTL added: "It is anticipated that a product will be available for use in the next couple of years."
Ricin is extracted from castor beans, which are processed throughout the world to make castor oil. The toxin is part of the waste "mash" produced when castor oil is made.
It can cause harm if injected, swallowed or inhaled. But the amount needed to kill depends on the route of administration.
A combination of pulmonary, liver, renal and immunological failure can lead to death, though people can recover from exposure.
In recent years, the perceived threat of bioterrorism has increased.
Although the anti-toxin developed at Porton Down was initially intended for use by the military, DSTL scientists are investigating its potential use in a civilian environment.
Production of the anti-toxin involves immunising sheep with an inactive form of ricin, which results in the production of antibodies. These are proteins used by the immune system to neutralise harmful substances.
The antibodies are then harvested from the sheep to produce a freeze-dried product. This is reconstituted with water for injection into the body.
