Global Restrictions on Religion
A new Pew Forum report gauges the level of religious restrictions in 198 countries due both to government actions and to acts of violence and intimidation by private individuals, organizations and social groups. According to the findings, two-in-three people in the world today live in countries with high levels of restrictions on religion. The report includes:
A graphic showing religious restrictions in the 25 most populous countries;
An analysis of government restrictions on religion;
An analysis of social hostilities involving religion; and
A comparison of government restrictions and social hostilities.
